Exclusive, limited, numbered and signed

Experience historic jazz and blues concerts

The International Jazzfestival Bern was televised and broadcast for twenty years, from 1983 until 2002 by Swiss Televison. Because of the high standards of the festival, the 230 DVDs included in the ARTBOX are the most extensive collection of undiluted jazz, blues and gospel ever assembled. The ARTBOX features the finest musicians of the final two decades of the 20th Century, performing in ideal circumstances, recorded with state of the art equipment, often in unique combinations, performances that not only entertain but educate as well.

Wynton Marsalis
"This is a spirited, delightful and hard
swinging collection of great music."

Unreleased recordings

without exception

Swiss television began recording and broadcasting the festival in 1983. It was the first festival anywhere in the world to broadcast five nights of jazz. Not just the headliners, but all the performers led by Jazzmasters like John Lewis, Clark Terry, Dizzy Gillespie, Dave Brubeck and Wynton Marsalis. These live recordings have never before been released on DVD. The Jazz & Blues ARTBOX presents more than 300 hours of jazz history.

96 exclusive interviews

Wynton Marsalis
"Hans Zurbrügg went a step further and convinced Swiss television to record and broadcast interviews and classes as well. These previously unreleased interviews with 96 of the most important Jazz & Blues legends provide an in-depth insight into the life and musical heritage of Jazz & Blues culture."
